Landscape Photography
![]() |
Landscape photography is one of the most embraced photography style by both amateur and professional photographers. This type of photography is composed of a general view from nature, or just one particular subject from it. |
Many believe that in the landscape photography style, superb pictures can be very easily achieved
because beautiful nature scenes are everywhere around us, there is plenty of light and everything
is still.. Sometimes this can be true, but is not always like this. There are not too many technical
glitches in this style, you just need a camera capable to capture all the little details from nature,
to ensure crisp images.
Light
The light is a very important element here, many landscape photographs express the feeling only
through the light in it, the light can be sometimes even more important than the subject itself, and is
the only element that brings the image to life.
A beautiful landscape photograph can be more easily achieved if the photographer is closer to the
nature, knowing how the time is changing and when the light will be suitable for a good nature
photograph. A good type of light is near the sunrise or sunset, when the light is falling in such ways
that will leave beautiful shadows next to subjects.
Point Of View
Another important factor when photographing landscapes is the point of view, this can highly affect
the aspect of the captured image, you can move a few steps back or closer to the subject, lower
or upper, test different positions until you are fully satisfied with the result.
Foreground
The foreground is another valuable element in landscape photography, some of the most beautiful
landscape photographs contain a clear foreground subject. This subject which will be placed in the
lower part of the frame, will give a great feeling of depth in the picture.
Sky
Often, the sky will take a large part of a landscape photo. If the sky is not so beautiful in a given day,
then you can frame the land over the middle line of the frame, and opposite. To make the sky color
more accentuated and to avoid the haze in the mountain areas, you can use a polarizing filter.
