Light - The Most Important Element In Photography

The light represents the most important element of a photograph. The light offers many possibilities
in creating beautiful photographs. Light will give depth sensation and will bring life to pictures.
When photographing in natural light, we must choose the best time in that day.

The best time for photographing outdoor is in the morning or in the evening, when the sun is not right
above us, but near to the horizon.
The sun rays will give long shadows and beautiful contours in the pictures.

Try to avoid hard light, especially in the full day when the sun light is very powerful. This type of light
will bring unwanted shadows on our subjects and many parts in the picture can be overexposed.
If you still want to make photographs in the middle of the day when the sun is above, then try to place
your subject in such a way that the light will not burn any portions on it, or you can just simply wait
for a few clouds to hide the sun.

There are two types of natural light that will give beautiful effects in your photos:

- Lateral light will outline the subject relief making the picture more expressive, the result will be
a pleasant scene.

- The light behind the subject, will give high accentuations between light and shadows resulting
in very special pictures.
